Founded in 1966 by Chairman, Eric Twigg, Eric Twigg Foods Limited remains a well-established family run business with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the food industry. Based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire the business distributes various brands of industry leading food products throughout the North of the UK and is well-known for delivering Pukka Pies.

Competition Overview

In celebrating 50 years as a successful Rotherham based business Eric Twigg Foods has commissioned Gallery Town to run a special art competition and is asking Rotherham based artists to get involved in marking the celebrations. The commissioned funds will be reinvested into the not-for-profit Gallery Town project whose aim is to assist in steering forward the cultural and economic regeneration of Rotherham town centre. The Gallery Town project uses the medium of art to strengthen local business by improving the environment in which people visit and shop.

Competition Prize

The winning entry will be judged by the Chairman Eric Twigg and his son Matthew Twigg, the businesses Managing Director with the winning artist:

• Winning their height in Pukka Pies.
• Having their artwork reproduced and installed in Rotherham town centre as part of the open air Gallery Town project.
• Having their artwork included in any relevant promotional material on a local level.
• Receiving £200 as a cash reward from Gallery Town.

Competition Rules

To enter the competition you must email to register your interest prior to the closing date for submissions which is Friday 25th March. The focus of the artwork should reflect 50 years in business but can cover any aspect in any form i.e. it could be a branded van driving cross-country making deliveries? Or a change in time from the 1960’s to the present day? You can include Pukka Pies but don’t over focus on it as it is only one aspect of the successful business – See link for ideas –

Artworks should be unframed and no smaller than A4 (or similar equivalent) and no larger than A2 (or similar equivalent) in size. The medium used to create the work is not exclusive although a paint type and colour is preferred over pencil drawings particularly those in black & white. If you need any further advice or help than please contact the above email.

Completed artworks should be signed on the back and sent to Ged Omar, Gallery Town, Reginald Arthur House, 2-8 Percy Street, Rotherham, S65 1ED. Please call 01709 970134 to arrange pickup if post is not an option.
Thank you in advance and Good Luck, Ged Omar (Gallery Town)
