And the Winner of the Photography Competition 2017 is….

Here is the winning image for the Gallery Town & Rotherham Advertiser competition ‘Views of Rotherham’.

The competition which started in 2016 recieved lots of fantastic entries from all across the borough.

These were narrowed down to just three finalists including Lee Evans & Nigel Toohey who each won a framed copy of their photography.

But as always there can only be on winner and that was Rich Sayles with his fantastic image of fire breather Dr Diablo at the Events RMBC Victorian Christmas market.

Rich said “I’m absolutely delighted to announce I’ve won the annual Rotherham Advertiser & Gallery Town photography competition with this shot of fire breather Dr Diablo at the Events RMBC Victorian Christmas market. I can’t wait to see it up on the wall in Rotherham Town Centre as part of the Gallery Town open-air collection.”

Andrew Mosley, Editor of the Rotherham Advertiser and one of the competition judges said “The composition of this striking picture was exceptional. It will look dramatic in a big space…It must have been difficult to take regarding the timing of the fire, but he got it just right. A terrific photograph that is a very worth winner”

Rich’s image will now be installed large scale on College Walk in the coming weeks and form part of the Gallery Town collection.
